West Coast lost all three round-robin games to finish bottom of their group in the final Ansett Cup competition, with the competition being renamed to reflect new sponsor Wizard Home Loans the following season..

Rules

Teams were split into four groups of four, with each side playing the others in their group before the top teams from each group met in the semi-finals.
