West Coast kicked off their pre-season sluggishly with a heavy scratch match defeat to Fremantle, behind closed doors at Lathlain. The Dockers broke the game open with three quick goals late in the second term and then pulled away in the second half, as an undermanned Eagles struggled to keep up. Jamie Cripps was lively with three goals.
