Perth Stadium (currently known as Optus Stadium for sponsorship reason) is a new stadium on the Burswood Peninsula, which took over from Subiaco Oval as the host of AFL games in WA from 2018 onwards. The stadium, designed as a multi-purpose venue capable of hosting AFL, rugby, soccer, cricket and entertainment events, has an initial capacity of 60,000. Construction of the stadium precinct began in late 2014 and construction of the stadium itself started in August 2015 and was completed in late 2017.
