(14th Eagles player)
Former Docker ruck Parris Laurie was a stalwart for West Coast following the club's entry into the AFLW competition.
Fremantle career[]
Laurie, the sister of former Port Adelaide rookie Jesse Laurie, was a member of the West Coast female academy and captained Claremont in the WAWFL before being drafted by Fremantle in the 2018 AFLW draft. She played eight games in her first season at the Dockers.[1]
West Coast career[]
Laurie was signed by West Coast in April 2019 during the AFLW's exchange period. She led the Eagles' ruck division through the club's difficult first season, and was unlucky not to earn All-Australian selection. Laurie continued to lead the ruck through 2021, also serving as acting captain in the final two rounds in the absence of Emma Swanson, and was named Best Club Person at the end of the year.
After finishing in the top three in the Club Champion award in 2022, equalling her finish in 2020, Laurie made a surprise retirement announcement the following offseason. She retired having been one of just three players, alongside Mikayla Bowen and Belinda Smith, to have played every game in the club's first three seasons.
