West Perth (WAFL) 2012-2013
An injury-prone wingman with great kicking skills, Michael Mascoulis spent just one year on West Coast's rookie list. Twelve months after leaving the club he tragically passed away in a car accident in Victoria.
West Coast career[]
Overlooked in the national draft after battling injury, West Coast swooped on Mascoulis in the 2012 rookie draft. On joining the club he was allocated to West Perth but managed just a handful of senior and reserves games throughout the 2012 season. He was delisted at the end of the year.
Post-AFL career and death[]
Mascoulis stayed with West Perth for 2013 but spent the year in the reserves as West Perth won a flag. After playing in the Falcons' reserves grand final loss he returned to Victoria and signed with Port Melbourne in the VFL.
Tragically, on 29 November 2013 he passed away in a car accident in country Victoria. He was just 20 years of age.[1]
