Former Fremantle midfielder Matilda Sergeant joined West Coast in the 2023 draft, but did not play a game after suffering a knee injury.
Fremantle career[]
Originally drafted by the Dockers in 2018, Sergeant played four games in her first season but missed the entire 2020 season with crippling concussion symptoms. She returned and made another 15 appearances, but was delisted ahead of the 2023 season.
West Coast career[]
Sergeant spent 2023 as a train-on player with West Coast, before being picked up with the club's fourth and final pick in the draft. Added to the leadership group from 2024, she unfortunately suffered a ruptured ACL during training and was placed on the inactive list, replaced by Sanne Bakker. Sergeant was not offered a new contract at the end of the season.
