Lightly-built Subiaco forward Malakai Champion was added to West Coast's list ahead of the 2025 season.
West Coast career[]
Originally from Kalgoorlie, Champion played senior football for Subiaco in his draft year, kicking three goals on debut. The Next Gen Academy member was overlooked in the national draft, allowing West Coast to add him as a Category B rookie ahead of the rookie draft. On being drafted he was described as having dazzling speed and agility and playing with zest and energy.[1]
