Luke Trew spent time on three AFL lists but was unable to manage a senior game.
West Coast career[]
The athletic Trew was an early pick in the 1995 draft and spent the 1996 season with Perth in the WAFL. At the end of the season he was traded back to Victoria in a deal that saw ruckman Ilija Grgic become an Eagle.
Western Bulldogs and Essendon career[]
Trew was delisted by the Western Bulldogs shortly after arriving at the club. He was then picked up by Essendon in the rookie draft but failed to play a game for the Bombers before being delisted.
Post-AFL career[]
After being cut by Essendon Trew returned to Wodonga,[1] before playing several seasons for Heidelberg in the Northern Football League in suburban Melbourne.[2] He turned out for Wonthaggi in the Gippsland league in 2011 while working at the local desalination plant.[3]
