Swan Districts midfielder Lily Paterson joined West Coast ahead of the 2026 season after a brief stint at Port Adelaide.
Port Adelaide career[]
Paterson burst onto the scene for Swan Districts in 2024, having been a relative latecomer to football from a soccer and netball background. After starring for a winless WA side in the national championships, she was picked by Port Adelaide late in the first round (five picks before West Coast selected Charlotte Riggs). Paterson played six games for the Power as a rookie, before being involved in a surprise deal in the final moments of the trade period, heading back to Perth with fellow rookie Lucy Boyd going the other way.
