A rangy key forward, Walker starred for WA as a junior but was unable to have an impact at AFL level due to persistent injuries.
West Coast career[]
Walker was picked up by West Coast in the 1992 draft. Given Laurie Keene's number 25 jumper, he also inherited Keene's terrible luck with injury. The beanpole Walker was only able to play a handful of games for East Perth due to a serious knee injury.
After two seasons he was traded to Collingwood for a first-round pick.
Collingwood career[]
Walker's injury problems followed him to Victoria Park. He managed just 16 games in three seasons at Collingwood.
Post-AFL career[]
After his AFL career ended, Walker worked for Fremantle as a player welfare manager.
