Former Fremantle forward-ruckman Justin Longmuir moved up the coaching ranks at West Coast, spending time in charge of the forward line and as a senior assistant coach.

Playing career[]

Originally from West Perth, Longmuir joined the Dockers as the second overall pick in the 1998 national draft. He played 139 games for Fremantle but was hampered by injuries and eventually forced into premature retirement in 2007 at just 26 years of age.

Coaching career[]

Longmuir began his coaching career as the Dockers' ruck coach in 2010, before shifting across town to West Coast in a development role. He was promoted to the role of assistant coach ahead of the 2012 season, and served as a senior assistant under Adam Simpson before leaving at the end of 2017 to join Collingwood. After two seasons with the Magpies, he returned to Fremantle as senior coach, following the departure of Ross Lyon.
