Originally from the Geelong Falcons under-18 side, Jordan Jones was a medium-sized defender who was also capable of running through the midfield.
West Coast career[]
Jones was picked up by West Coast with its final selection in the 2008 draft, despite a shoulder injury having wrecked his final TAC Cup season. Allocated to Peel Thunder in the WAFL, he had a steady season in 2009 but suffered a severe ankle injury midway through 2010.
He returned late in the year and dominated against Perth in just his second senior game back, racking up 30 touches, 9 marks and 2 goals, and receiving a call-up for his AFL debut. Jones played the final two games of the year, both of which were losses.
In 2011 he was unable to obtain another senior call-up despite solid form with the Thunder, and was delisted at the end of the season.
Post-AFL career[]
The Victorian chose to remain in WA but shifted to West Perth, where he became an important part of the Falcons' midfield and played in their 2013 premiership. After four years at Arena Joondalup, he returned to Victoria in 2016 to line up for VFL side Werribee,[1] spending two seasons with the Tigers before switching to Williamstown.[2]
