(69th Eagles player)
Victorian midfielder Jess Rentsch was West Coast's first pick in the 2023 draft.
West Coast career[]
Hailing from the small western Victorian town of Penshurst, Rentsch overcame a badly broken leg in 2022 to shoot up draft boards in 2023. After she nominated for the national pool, West Coast snapped her up with the second overall pick. On being drafted, Rentsch was described as displaying outstanding athleticism and leadership with the ability to play inside and outside.[1]
