Veteran midfielder Jess Hosking joined West Coast in 2024 after playing 53 games for Carlton and Richmond.

Carlton and Richmond career[]

Hosking and her twin sister Sarah were drafted by Carlton ahead of the inaugural (2017) AFLW season, having only recently switched from netball. Jess played 30 games for the Blues over five seasons before crossing to Richmond at the end of 2021, rejoining her sister who had made the same move a year earlier. Hosking played 23 games in three seasons but was surprisingly delisted at the end of 2023.

West Coast career[]

A rebuilding West Coast pounced on Hosking, signing her up as a delisted free agent shortly after the exchange period closed. She burst out of the blocks, kicking two goals in an upset win over her old side Richmond in the opening round of 2024, and finished the season with four goals from eight games. Ahead of the 2025 season, the club announced that Hosking would take a break from football for personal reasons.
