(280th Eagles player)
Former Melbourne speedster Jayden Hunt joined West Coast in 2022 after nine seasons at the Demons.
Melbourne career[]
A draft 'smokey', Hunt was selected by Melbourne in the latter stages of the 2013 national draft despite not having played TAC Cup football that season. After an injury-plagued first two seasons, he made his debut for the Demons in 2016 and won the club's Harold Ball Memorial Trophy, awarded to the best young player, that season. Hunt played 114 games for Melbourne, including the first 20 of the Demons' successful 2021 season, but injured his ankle (coincidentally against West Coast) and ultimately missed out on a Grand Final berth, named in the emergencies for the big game.
West Coast career[]
Hunt joined West Coast following the 2022 season, signing as an unrestricted free agent early in the exchange period. He was one of few solid contributors during the Eagles' horror 2023 season, playing every game and kicking seven goals while splitting his time between wing and defence, and finishing fourth in the Best and Fairest. Hunt was similarly dependable in 2024, although he missed a handful of games due to niggling injuries.
