(4th Eagles player)
Kelmscott product Imahra Cameron was West Coast's first-ever draft selection ahead of the club's entry into the AFLW competition.
West Coast career[]
Cameron played for the Perth Angels and South Fremantle in the WA Women's Football League before joining Swan Districts for the inaugural WAFLW season, helping the Swans to the grand final. On being drafted, she was described as dynamic and explosive with X-factor.[1]
Rotating between the midfield and the forward line in her first season, Cameron was named the AFLW club's inaugural Best First Year Player and finished fifth in the best and fairest. She struggled with injury in 2021 and was restricted to playing solely as a forward, where she kicked six goals (second at the club behind Grace Kelly), including a club-record three goal game against Geelong, with all three coming in the second term. Her struggles continued during 2022, with Cameron playing just nine games across the two 2022 seasons.
