(70th Eagles player)
Hard-working midfielder Ian Dargie won two Sandover Medals with Subiaco but could not translate that into success at AFL level.
St Kilda career[]
Dargie played in Subiaco’s 1986 and 1988 premiership teams before being drafted by St Kilda in the 1988 national draft. After playing just 10 senior games in two seasons with the Saints, he was traded home to West Coast at the end of 1990.
West Coast career[]
The shift didn’t exactly help to jump-start Dargie’s AFL career. Despite playing well enough at Subiaco to win the Sandover Medal, he managed just one game in West Coast’s 1991 campaign, picking up four touches in a comfortable win over the Bears at Carrara. At the end of the season he was delisted.
Post VFL/AFL career[]
Dargie played on for Subiaco, winning a second Sandover in 1994 before crossing to Queensland where he played in a couple of QAFL premierships with Southport.
