(65th Eagles player)
Star forward/ruck Georgie Cleaver was West Coast's third pick in the 2023 draft.
West Coast career[]
An elite netballer, Cleaver was rated a top-10 pick going into the 2023 draft but only nominated for the WA pool, partly due to her netball commitments. As a result, West Coast was able to delay selecting her until shortly before Fremantle's first pick. On being drafted, Cleaver was described being strong in the air and clean below her knees.[1]
Cleaver had a strong start to her AFLW career, playing every game in her first season. Used primarily in defence, she caught the eye on her debut when she performed a shutdown job on Richmond star Katie Brennan.
