Tasmanian midfielder Gavin Cooney did not move to Perth after being drafted, choosing to remain in Tassie.
West Coast career[]
Drafted in the back half of the 1990 draft, Cooney came to Perth for a week-long visit but opted to return to Clarence.
Post-AFL career[]
Cooney played on with Clarence until 2009, winning five premierships and finishing on 314 games. He was inducted into the AFL Tasmania Hall of Fame in 2011, and the best and fairest for the Clarence colts' side is named in his honour.
