After a week of fixture changes, West Coast's AFLW team took on Brisbane in Queensland but were crushed by the ladder-leading Lions. The Eagles gave Brisbane an early scare, controlling play for much of the first half, but were held goalless in the second half as the home side booted through seven unanswered majors. Aisling McCarthy continued her bright start as an Eagle with 17 touches and a goal and youngster Bella Lewis tallied 14 disposals.

From the papers[]

The West Australian[]

"West Coast impressed early with their pressure on a Brisbane outfit who could not find space to execute their methodical game style.

Brisbane had conceded just one goal in the opening two rounds, but West Coast's Aisling McCarthy (18 touches) doubled that in the opening minutes after she slotted a set shot following an intercept mark.

This gave the visitors plenty of early confidence and they put Brisbane's defence under pressure by going into attack on seven more occasions in the opening term.

The Eagles could not put their dominance on the scoreboard, though, and their inaccuracy came back to hurt them when Dakota Davidson (two goals) kicked a late goal against the run of play to get the Lions going."[1]
