Inaugural squad member Don Langsford had a successful career at Swan Districts but was unable to break into the VFL side.
West Coast career[]
A hard-nosed defender or ruck-rover, Langsford played in Swans' hat-trick of WAFL premierships between 1982 and 1984 and captained the side in 1985 and 1986. He was recruited to form part of the Eagles' inaugural squad, but didn't play a game and was delisted at the end of the year.
Post-VFL career[]
Langsford played on for Swan Districts, retiring after winning a fourth WAFL premiership in 1990.
