Under-fire AFLW coach Michael Prior stepped down with two weeks remaining in the season, despite the pressure on him being relieved by the upset win over Essendon. Assistant coach Rohan McHugh was announced as caretaker coach for the final rounds.

West Coast handed a debut to pre-season signing Mackenzie Webb, while Emily Elkington was recalled and Zoe Wakfer returned from injury. The trio replaced injured pair Jess Sedunary (back) and Beth Schilling (knee) and omitted forward Aimee Schmidt.
