Waalitj Marawar (West Coast) named five youngsters as potential inclusions against Kuwarna (Adelaide), with forwards Archer Reid and Noah Long, midfielder Clay Hall, defender Bo Allan and wingman Tyrell Dewar all on an extended bench. Injured forward pair Jamie Cripps (knee) and Matthew Owies (calf) were the only omissions.

Geelong beat Western Bulldogs in a high-scoring shootout.

Friday 23 May[]

Long and Dewar were the final inclusions for Cripps and Owies, with Hall traveling to Adelaide with the team.

The club announced contract extensions for Dewar, Tim Kelly and Jack Hutchinson. Mid-season draftee Hutchinson signed a lengthy deal through to the end of 2029, Dewar signed until the end of 2028 and Kelly signed a two-year extension through to 2027.

Essendon defeated Richmond in the teams' annual Dreamtime at the 'G match.

Saturday 24 May[]

West Coast suffered a heavy loss to the Falcons in Joondalup. On a rainy evening, West Perth held the Eagles at bay in the first half before piling on seven goals in the third term to blow the margin out. Jack Williams continued to press for senior selection with four goals and Hamish Davis had 23 disposals on a wing.

GWS Giants beat Carlton, Brisbane defeated Hawthorn, Collingwood beat North Melbourne and Walyalup (Fremantle) comfortably accounted for Yartapuulti (Port Adelaide).

Sunday 25 May[]

Waalitj Marawar suffered a disappointing second-half fadeout to fall heavily to Kuwarna at a blustery Adelaide Oval. In a mismatch on paper, the Eagles managed to stick with the home side for most of the first half, but a Kuwarna onslaught late in the third term opened up a big lead as they coasted to an 11-goal win. Jake Waterman kicked three goals before suffering a dislocated shoulder in the final term, and co-captain Liam Duggan had a team-high 23 possessions.

Narrm (Melbourne) thumped Sydney and Gold Coast defeated Euro-Yroke (St Kilda).

Monday 26 May[]

Liam Baker escaped suspension, offered a fine for misconduct for a crude hit to back of James Peatling's head. Baker was also fined for his involvement in the subsequent melee, along with Bailey Williams, Elijah Hewett and Jack Hutchinson.

Tuesday 27 May[]

West Coast confirmed the worst, with Waterman requiring a shoulder reconstruction and ruled out for the season. The move was made quickly, opening up a second list spot ahead of Wednesday's mid-season draft.

In other injury news, Campbell Chesser (ankle) was cleared to play his first game of the season and Jack Petruccelle was set to return from a shoulder injury, while Elliot Yeo (ankle), Jamie Cripps (knee) and Matthew Owies (calf) continued to progress.
