West Coast made three changes, all forced, to the side that beat Melbourne. Jake Waterman and late withdrawal Will Schofield returned, replacing injured pair Daniel Venables (concussion) and Tom Hickey (ankle), while defender Jackson Nelson was called up for his first game of the season in place of the suspended Lewis Jetta. Uncapped midfielder Matthew Allen travelled to his home state as emergency.

Collingwood narrowly defeated Sydney.

Saturday 25 May[]

West Coast came from behind to beat Adelaide by 12 points at Adelaide Oval. The Crows threatened to take the game away with a dominant second quarter and led by 33 points early in the third, but the Eagles were able to peg them back and force an arm-wrestle in the final term before late goals to Oscar Allen and Jack Darling gave the visitors the points. Elliot Yeo and Jack Redden each recorded 27 touches and an astonishing 15 tackles.

West Coast's reserves fell to Swan Districts, with a late fightback by the undermanned Eagles reducing the margin to 14 points. Jarrod Cameron kicked four goals (of his team's total of seven) against his old side.

Hawthorn beat Port Adelaide, North Melbourne defeated Western Bulldogs to makr coach Brad Scott's final game, Geelong beat Gold Coast and Richmond defeated Essendon in their annual "Dreamtime at the 'G" clash.

Sunday 26 May[]

GWS Giants defeated Melbourne, St Kilda held off bottom-placed Carlton and Fremantle won a thriller over Brisbane, with Michael Walters hitting the post with a set shot after the siren to put the Dockers in front.

Monday 27 May[]

The first mid-season draft since 1993 was held, with Subiaco's Josh Deluca taken at pick 1 by Carlton. With no players on the inactive list, West Coast did not have a selection.
