Wednesday 4 March[]

West Coast released an injury update, with premiership players Jeremy McGovern (Achilles) and Jack Darling (cheekbone) a chance to resume action on the weekend, along with Oscar Allen (ankle). In bad news, Jarrod Cameron (pubic bone stress injury) and Tom Cole (fractured thumb) faced a delayed start to the season, while Luke Foley was still overcoming a pubic bone stress injury of his own.

Thursday 5 March[]

West Coast named Darling and Elliot Yeo as new additions to the leadership group for 2020, under skipper Luke Shuey. The duo joined vice captains McGovern and Josh Kennedy and continuing leadership group members Nic Naitanui and Andrew Gaff.

McGovern was named to play Fremantle in the Marsh Community Series, his first appearance of the season. Yeo, Gaff and Brad Sheppard also returned to the side from All-Star duties, while young key defender Harry Edwards was named for his first appearance at senior level.

In the AFLW, former Docker Melissa Caulfield was named to make her West Coast debut against Melbourne, in place of defender Chantella Perera who missed due to work commitments. Kate Orme and rugby convert Mhicca Carter were named on an extended bench.

Friday 6 March[]

Orme and Carter missed the cut as squads were reduced to 21, leaving Caulfield for Perera as the only change.

Saturday 7 March[]

West Coast face Fremantle in a pre-season game at Arena Joondalup, while West Coast's reserves meet Peel Thunder in a curtain-raiser.

Sunday 8 March[]

West Coast meet Melbourne at Casey Fields in the AFLW.
