Wednesday 24 June[]

The AFL announced the fixture for Round 6 with the Eagles meeting Adelaide at the Gabba in their final game before leaving the Queensland hub.

Thursday 25 June[]

West Coast swung the axe at the selection table, with Jeremy McGovern, Tom Hickey, Tom Cole and club debutant Jamaine Jones named to replace Will Schofield, Oscar Allen, Josh Rotham and Jack Petruccelle.

The AFL revealed the Round 7 fixture with the Eagles playing their first game in WA since March, but as an away side with Fremantle granted the right to host the season's only derby.

Western Bulldogs comfortably defeated Sydney.

GWS Giants beat Collingwood in a thriller.

Saturday 27 June[]

West Coast's terrible form continued with a 48-point loss to Port Adelaide at Carrara. Apart from a brief three-goal spurt to start the third term, the Eagles were never in the hunt, overrun by the top-of-the-ladder Power. Josh Kennedy returned to form with four of his team's six goals.

In other games, St Kilda beat Richmond, Carlton narrowly defeated Essendon and Gold Coast kept Fremantle winless.

Sunday 28 June[]

Schofield, who had been a late inclusion for McGovern, was offered a one-week suspension for headbutting Port Adelaide youngster Zak Butters. Debutant Jones was offered a fine for striking Port's Justin Westhoff.

Brisbane thrashed Adelaide, Geelong squeaked past Melbourne and Hawthorn held off a fast-finishing North Melbourne.

Monday 29 June[]

With the Queensland government imposing restrictions against Victorian teams in the wake of a Covid outbreak in that state, the Eagles' upcoming match against Richmond on Thursday night was cancelled and replaced with a clash with Sydney on the Saturday.

Tuesday 30 June[]

West Coast provided an injury update with McGovern expected to return against Sydney, while draftee Ben Johnson was slated to play some minutes in a reserves scrimmage after overcoming a shoulder injury.
