Adam Simpson confirmed on Melbourne radio station 3AW that Jack Darling would be in the senior lineup for the first time against Essendon. "We won't put too much pressure on him. He had a really good performance at East Perth and he's a top five player at our club. Darling and Xavier Ellis were both named for their first AFL games of 2015, with Fraser McInnes and Jackson Nelson the unlucky pair to make way. Matt Rosa was named as an emergency on his return from a lengthy injury layoff.

Geelong defeated Port Adelaide.

West Coast thumped Essendon by 50 points, with Mark LeCras kicking four goals.
Fremantle narrowly held off Gold Coast to remain top of the ladder, and Sydney beat North Melbourne.
Sunday 14 June[]
East Perth lost to Peel Thunder despite big games from Rosa and Kane Lucas.
Collingwood beat GWS Giants and St Kilda pipped Melbourne in a thriller.
Monday 15 June[]
Ellis was offered a $1,000 for rough conduct, after a clumsy knees-first challenge on Joe Daniher in the final quarter of the win over Essendon.
Tuesday 16 June[]
The weekly injury list had no surprises, with all eyes on Jeremy McGovern after the key defender was subbed with a corked thigh and an injured hand against Essendon. He was listed as a test for the next clash. One concern was draftee Tom Lamb who remained officially three weeks away, for the third straight week.
Ellis accepted his fine.
