Thursday 4 June[]

Elliot Yeo, Dom Sheed and Mark Hutchings were named in the extended squad to play North Melbourne, with three players still to be cut.

In further good news, Jack Darling was named to play his first game for the season in East Perth's league side, with Damien Cavka to do the same in the reserves.

Friday 5 June[]

Hutchings missed the cut as the final side was named, with Jamie Bennell and Brant Colledge making way for Yeo and Sheed. Bennell travelled to Hobart as the emergency.

Richmond upset Fremantle, handing the Dockers their first loss for the year.

Saturday 6 June[]

East Perth came out on top of a close tussle with Swan Districts at Bassendean, winning by 17 points. Jack Darling kicked five goals in his first hitout for the season and veteran Xavier Ellis continued his own comeback with 27 possessions across half-back.

Adelaide's narrow win against Carlton was overshadowed by an ACL injury that may have ended the career of former Eagles skipper Chris Judd. In other games, Sydney comfortably beat Gold Coast, Port Adelaide overcame Western Bulldogs and Geelong thrashed Essendon.

Sunday 7 June[]

West Coast fell to North Melbourne at a blustery Bellerive Oval, snapping a six-game winning streak and dropping the side to third.

GWS Giants beat Brisbane and Hawthorn thumped St Kilda.

Monday 8 June[]

Collingwood overcame Melbourne in the annual Queen's Birthday clash.

Tuesday 9 June[]

Judd announced his retirement, finishing his stellar career on 279 games (145 with the Blues and 134 with West Coast).

The weekly injury list looked much shorter, with Matt Rosa expected to return from a hamstring strain and Tom Lamb still three weeks away after knee surgery.

The West Australian reported that Ellis had signed on for 2016, although there was no official announcement from the club. The former Hawk said he was not expecting to be recalled to the senior side until he proved he could get through a full WAFL game. "Eighty minutes of WAFL footy isn’t to the AFL standard, so I know there’s going to be a massive increase when I’m right to go, but the body’s handling it really well. I am a bit of a realist on this one now. I’ve just missed so much footy and the way the AFL game is going you don’t want to let the team down more than anything" - Dale Miller, The West Australian: https://au.news.yahoo.com/thewest/sport/a/28380281/ellis-takes-solid-step-after-injury-hassles/
