Wednesday 26 February[]

West Coast named a below-strength side to play Essendon, with Elliot Yeo, Brad Sheppard and Andrew Gaff in Melbourne for the All Star bushfire relief match and Jack Darling (cheekbone), Jeremy McGovern (heel) and Oscar Allen (ankle) among those unavailable. Star recruit Tim Kelly was included for his first game in Eagles colours, as were youngsters Bailey Williams, Hamish Brayshaw and Anthony Treacy.

The Eagles' reserves side defeated Swan Districts in a scratch match at Lathlain Park, with Tom Hickey impressing in the ruck and new recruit Jarrod Humphries starring with five goals.

Thursday 27 February[]

West Coast narrowly lost to Essendon in a pre-season clash at Lathlain Park marked by poor weather and a 15-minute delay due to lightning strikes in the second term. Josh Kennedy kicked six goals in a rare pre-season outing and Kelly tallied 27 possessions and a goal on his club debut.

In AFLW, West Coast named Cassie Davidson and Emily McGuire to debut against the Western Bulldogs. Kate Orme was dropped, while forward Tarnee Tester missed with a foot injury.

Off the field, West Coast revealed that youngster Daniel Venables would miss the entire 2020 season as he continued to battle the effects of a concussion suffered the previous year.

Gaff's Victorian side defeated Yeo and Sheppard's All Stars side in the one-off bushfire relief match.

Saturday 29 February[]

West Coast scored an historic first AFLW victory over Western Bulldogs at Leederville, kicking two goals clear in the last term and holding on as the Bulldogs threatened to steal the win in the dying stages. Skipper Emma Swanson led from the front with 22 possessions and a goal, and Grace Kelly had 14 touches and the vital final goal.

West Coast announced that Jamaine Jones and Nick Reid had been signed as rookies in the supplementary signing period, completing the 2020 starting playing list. The Eagles had left one rookie spot open following the rookie draft, while a second spot opened up with Venables being ruled out for the year.
