At the rookie draft former Blue Kane Lucas was the club's first selection, rounding out the playing list for 2015. Corey Adamson and Paddy Brophy were also formally added to the list.

Playing numbers for the new draftees were announced, with top pick Liam Duggan taking the vacant number 14 and fellow newcomers Tom Lamb (28), Jackson Nelson (30), Damien Cavka (19), Alec Waterman (42), Corey Adamson (45), Paddy Brophy (46) and Kane Lucas (47) given their new digits. The only player to change numbers was rookie of the year winner Jeremy McGovern who moved into the number 20 of retired games record holder Dean Cox.

Construction began on the new stadium at Burswood. The $1.2 billion project was expected to be ready for the commencement of the 2018 AFL season.

Defender Shannon Hurn was named as the successor to retired captain Darren Glass, with Josh Kennedy and Scott Selwood his deputies. Hurn said the role meant a lot to him. "Obviously it is a great honour to be captain and to lead this playing group, but to be perfectly honest it won’t change me a lot.
