West Coast announced veteran WAFLW pair Jayme Harken and Tess Lyons had been signed as injury replacement players to cover the loss of Kayley Kavanagh and Annabel Johnson, finalising the squad ahead of the upcoming AFLW season.

West Coast named Harry Edwards to return from concussion, while potential inclusions Jack Petruccelle and Jack Hutchinson were among the extended bench.

West Coast suffered a disappointing loss to St Kilda in a pre-season hitout, despite a strong showing from youngster Ella Roberts.
Edwards and Petruccelle replaced omitted pair Ryan Maric and Clay Hall when teams were reduced to 23.
Sydney beat Essendon to lock away the minor premiership.

West Coast's reserves were hammered by Claremont in appalling conditions at Claremont Oval, going down by 58 points.
Melbourne beat Gold Coast, GWS Giants held off Fremantle, Collingwood came from behind to pinch a win over Brisbane, Port Adelaide won a spiteful Showdown against Adelaide and St Kilda upset Geelong.

West Coast turned in an appalling effort against Carlton in their final home game of 2024. Marking the retirement of Andrew Gaff, the Eagles went into the game in the unfamiliar position of being favourites against the the injury-ravaged Blues and started strongly with the first two goals of the contest, but that was quickly swept aside as the visitors hit the front on the quarter-time siren and then held the home side scoreless in the second term. The woeful Eagles looked all at sea, unable to win a contested possession or move the ball with any fluidity as Carlton cruised to a 65-point win. Elliot Yeo was one of few players who never stopped trying, finishing with 28 disposals and nine tackles.
Western Bulldogs thrashed North Melbourne and Hawthorn comfortably accounted for Richmond.
