West Coast named Glass and Hurn to return, with Butler and Tunbridge also added to the extended squad. Sheed was the only confirmed out.

Friday 2 May[]

Wellingham was a surprise omission from the final side for the derby, with the prized recruit sent back to East Perth along with McGovern. Butler also missed the cut.

Collingwood easily accounted for Carlton.

Saturday 3 May[]

Hawthorn gave St Kilda a record drubbing, Port Adelaide defeated GWS Giants, Melbourne caused a huge upset by defeating Adelaide, Sydney easily defeated Brisbane and Essendon beat Western Bulldogs.

In the WAFL, East Perth defeated East Fremantle.

Sunday 4 May[]

Fremantle won the 39th Derby thanks in part to West Coast's continued kicking woes.

Gold Coast upset North Melbourne and Geelong overcame a determined Richmond.

Monday 5 May[]

Missing stars LeCras and Ellis were listed as 'Test' in the weekly injury update, as was Shuey who suffered a lower leg injury in the latter stages of the derby. On the negative side, defender Wilson was expected to miss a month with a broken thumb suffered while playing for East Perth.

Tuesday 6 May[]

Chief Executive Trevor Nisbett said that the club intended to retain Murray Newman on the rookie list for 2015, with the Swan Districts product expected to be released from prison later in the year.
