West Coast was forced to ring the changes for round 4 vs Geelong, with Glass joining Masten and LeCras on the injured list, Shuey out suspended and Sinclair omitted. Coming into the side were Wellingham, Hill, Butler, Sheed and Lycett, while McGinnity and McGovern also travelled, the latter a chance to make his debut.

Friday 11 April[]

Collingwood defeated Richmond.

Saturday 12 April[]

Geelong thrashed West Coast at Kardinia Park. Cox broke Glen Jakovich's games record but there was little to celebrate.

The misery extended to the WAFL, where East Perth were on the receiving end of a 100-point hiding from West Perth.

In other games, Melbourne upset Carlton, Port Adelaide thumped Brisbane, Western Bulldogs overcame Greater Western Sydney, and Hawthorn demolished Gold Coast.

Sunday 13 April[]

North Melbourne defeated Sydney, Adelaide thrashed St Kilda and Fremantle won comfortably over Essendon.

Monday 14 April[]

Some much-needed good news for West Coast, with the official injury list revealing Rosa, Glass and Masten were all a chance to return for the weekend's clash with Port, along with Shuey after the midfielder had served a one-match suspension.

Tuesday 15 April[]

Coach Simpson ruled out dropping Naitanui, who was subbed off in the third quarter against Geelong with just 6 possessions, and had attention from trainers on his lower right leg but did not appear on the official injury list following the match.
