Football journeyman David Muir spent one season on West Coast's list and a year at North Melbourne before eventually making his AFL debut for Fremantle.
West Coast career[]
The powerfully-built Muir was picked up very late in the 1992 draft. He spent 1993 playing for Claremont, featuring in their premiership-winning team, but was delisted at the end of the year when clubs were forced to cut back their lists.
North Melbourne and Fremantle career[]
Muir was picked up by North Melbourne in the pre-season draft, and spent 1994 at the Kangaroos but was again unable to break into the seniors. At the end of the year he was recruited by Fremantle (along with anyone else with a link to Claremont) to join their inaugural squad. Muir finally made his AFL debut in the Dockers' first ever game, and played 20 games in two years in purple.
Post-AFL career[]
After his AFL career ended, Muir made a name for himself as a big-wave surfer.
