Former Docker Courtney Guard played 21 games after joining the Eagles' inaugural AFLW squad.

Fremantle career[]

Guard, originally known by her maiden name Courtney Stubbs, was drafted by Fremantle in 2018. She made one appearance for the Dockers in 2019, a loss to Adelaide in Darwin.[1]

West Coast career[]

Guard was one of a number of Dockers signed by West Coast in April 2019 during the AFLW's exchange period. She was named in the club's leadership group under skipper Emma Swanson, and played every game in the Eagles' inaugural season. Guard was dropped during 2021 but recalled after a week to resume her place in the backline. She announced her retirement ahead of the Eagles' final home game in the 2022 season, her 21st appearance in blue and gold, retiring to devote more time to her family and teaching career.
