West Coast career[]
A University junior player, Paunich made his senior amateurs debut for Wembley during the 2020 season. With the Eagles reserves short on players, he was lent out to make his WAFL debut for West Coast against East Fremantle in 2021, and ended up playing three matches for the season. He remained in the squad for 2022, adding another two games.
