(16th Eagles player)
Victorian defender Chantella Perera was West Coast's final selection in the 2019 AFLW draft.
West Coast career[]
A former basketballer, Perera switched to football after playing in a total of four WNBL premierships with the Canberra Capitals and the Bendigo Spirit.[1] She won the Lisa Hardeman Medal as best-afield in Hawthorn's 2019 VFLW premiership before being added to West Coast's inaugural AFLW squad with a late pick in the 2019 draft.[2]
Perera was a strong performer in West Coast's backline in the club's first AFLW season, finishing in the top ten of the Club Champion count, and continued to be a senior member of the defence in 2021, but was surprisingly delisted at the end of the year.
