A versatile, if somewhat undersized, key-position player, Callum Wilson played a handful of games in 2009 and 2010.

West Coast career[]

Picked up late in the 2008 rookie draft, Callum Wilson spent the 2008 season with South Fremantle, spending time at full-forward and full-back. He shifted forward on a more permanent basis during the 2009 season, and forced his way into the West Coast lineup late in the year after kicking 21 goals in four weeks. Wilson kicked two goals on debut and played four games before dropping back to the WAFL to be part of the Bulldogs' premiership side, kicking five goals in the grand final.

Despite West Coast's poor 2010 season and good performances at Souths, the strong-marking Wilson had to wait until the final few rounds to get another chance at senior level. When that chance came he grabbed it, kicking eight goals in the final three weeks. Most importantly his decisive leading helped to straighten up the Eagles' entries into the forward 50. It was enough to earn Wilson a spot on the senior list for 2011.

Unfortunately, he was joined on the list by Jack Darling, who was a revelation in his first year and left Wilson surplus to requirements. Wilson, despite kicking 46 goals for South Fremantle, was unable to add to his games tally and was delisted at the end of 2011.

Post-AFL career[]

Wilson shifted to South Australia in an effort to gain a second chance at AFL level, lining up for Port Adelaide in the SANFL.[1] After a season with the Magpies, he shifted to local football, playing for Goolwa-Port Elliot in the Great Southern Football League in 2013,[2] before crossing to Victoria in 2014 to play for Diggers Rest in the Riddell District Football League.[3] He lined up for Strathmore in suburban Melbourne in 2015, and country side Katunga in 2016.[4]
