(97th Eagles player)
A big, strong-marking forward from Gingin, just outside of Perth, Brendon Fewster was a top-three draft pick that didn't quite live up to that billing.
West Coast career[]
Fewster was picked up with the 3rd selection in the 1995 draft, a pick that West Coast had obtained from the Dockers (along with the rights to Phil Matera) in return for David Hynes.
His debut season lasted just three games before his knee blew out, requiring a reconstruction that ended his 1996 season and severely affected his 1997.
Perhaps as a result of his knee injury, Fewster never quite lived up to the expectation that came with being a high draft pick. At the end of 1999, after managing just 8 goals in 13 games, he was traded to Fremantle.
Fremantle career[]
He fared little better at the Dockers, playing 37 games in three seasons before being delisted.
Post-AFL career[]
Fewster was far more successful at WAFL level, playing in three premierships with the Falcons and being named in their Team of the Decade in 2004.
He retired from WAFL footy in 2005 and returned to Gingin.
