(175th Eagles player)
An industrious inside midfielder with a strong footballing pedigree, Brad Ebert played 76 games before returning to his 'family' club, Port Adelaide.
West Coast career[]
The nephew of Port Adelaide legend Russell Ebert and son of former Port and West Adelaide player Craig Ebert, Brad captained South Australia at under-18 level. He was expected to be taken by the Crows in the top 10 but they overlooked him in favour of Patrick Dangerfield and West Coast pounced at pick 13.
Allocated to Peel, Ebert played just one game with the Thunder before making his AFL debut. He played 15 games for the year, with his best performance coming against St Kilda late in the season when he picked up 25 touches, 3 goals and the Rising Star nomination for the week.
After spending some time at Peel early in 2009, Ebert became a regular in the seniors and played 17 games. He played every game in 2010, leading the side in kicks and finishing in the top 10 in the best and fairest.
Ebert found himself slightly out of favour in 2011. Although he still played 22 games, he found himself played out of position on most occasions, spending time on a half forward flank, in the green and red vests and on a couple of occasions back at Peel. After playing the qualifying final, he was dropped for the semi and did not play for West Coast again.
At the end of the season, Ebert requested a trade to Port Adelaide. After some protracted negotiations the deal was done, with West Coast getting a second-rounder.
Port Adelaide career[]
Given more of a midfield role at the Power, Ebert played every game in his first two seasons, finishing equal second in Port's best and fairest in 2012 and being elevated to the vice-captaincy in 2013. He played his 100th game as a Port Adelaide player in 2016.
