An All-Australian midfielder as a junior, Ben Sharp showed early signs in the WAFL but could not crack a senior game in three years.
West Coast career[]
Sharp played for West Perth after being drafted and impressed in his rookie year with a top-10 finish in the Sandover Medal.
He was redrafted for a third year on the rookie list, but a tail-off in his development and question marks over his kicking resulted in him being let go at the end of that season.
Post-AFL career[]
Sharp returned to Victoria and lined up for Werribee in the VFL, winning the Tigers' best and fairest in 2011. In 2017 he was sentenced to a minimum of six years' jail after pleading guilty to armed robbery relating to the theft of cash from an armoured vehicle in Melbourne's western suburbs.[1]
