Peel Thunder utility Ashley Thornton spent three years on West Coast's rookie list but was hampered by a serious knee injury.
West Coast career[]
The older brother of Sydney's Kristin, Ashley Thornton's first year on the West Coast rookie list was injury-affected, but his performances at Peel in 2006 were good enough to earn him a third year.
Sadly he injured a knee in an intra-club game in the 2007 pre-season and required a reconstruction, harpooning his chances of a senior upgrade.
Post-AFL career[]
Thornton shifted to Perth in 2008, spending three years with the Demons before moving back to Peel for the 2011 season. He left the Thunder early in the 2013, returning to junior club Harvey-Brunswick-Leschenault, where he teamed up with fellow former rookie Llane Spaanderman.[1]
