Geelong (AFLW) 2022-2023
Victorian defender Annabel Johnson joined West Coast after three seasons at Geelong.
Geelong career[]
A relative latecomer to football, Johnson spent 2021 with Geelong's VFLW side before being drafted by the Cats in the first round of the 2021 draft. She suffered a fractured foot against West Coast in her fourth game and missed the rest of the season, but returned in Season Seven to become an important member of Geelong's defence. Injury struck again in 2023, as Johnson missed most of the year with a knee injury.
West Coast career[]
After playing 16 games for Geelong, Johnson was enticed west, arriving as part of a three-club trade that saw Shanae Davison and Eleanor Hartill join Brisbane. Unfortunately, she ruptured her ACL in training ahead of the season start, and was placed on the inactive list.
