(195th Eagles player)
A superb field kick, Andrew Strijk was an outstanding player for West Perth for several seasons before being given a rookie list spot at the age of 22.
West Coast career[]
Strijk forced his way off the rookie list and into the Eagles' lineup midway through the 2010 season, kicking two goals against the Bulldogs and going on to play every game for the remainder of what was a very poor year for the club.
At the end of 2010 he was promoted to the senior list, ahead of fellow mature-age rookie Ashton Hams. However, he struggled for form and fitness throughout 2011, playing just one senior game. He was later diagnosed with a heart complaint which may well have explained the drop in his performance.
After a similar 2012, when Strijk could only force his way into the side for the final two rounds of the season, he was delisted.
Post-AFL career[]
Strijk played on with West Perth, winning the Falcons' best and fairest in 2013 along with a WAFL premiership medal. He played his 200th game for West Perth in 2017, and retired at the end of 2019 after 245 games for the Falcons. Strik played for Kulin-Kondinin in 2020,[1] and York in 2021.[2]
