Tenacious midfielder Adam Cockie played in a WAFL premiership with Subiaco in 2008 before being added to West Coast's rookie list.
West Coast career[]
After promising form in the pre-season and for Subiaco, Cockie was elevated off the rookie list following an injury to Luke Shuey and called up for his debut in the first derby of the 2009 season. Cockie looked comfortable at AFL level and held his spot for another three games before being dropped back to Subi. He was recalled in round 14 and recorded a remarkable 11 tackles against Melbourne. All up Cockie played 7 games for the season.
He was beset by injury in 2010 and unable to replicate his form of the previous year. At the end of 2010 he was not offered a new contract.
Post-AFL career[]
After playing for Subiaco in 2011, Cockie crossed to Sandringham in the VFL to put himself under the eye of AFL recruiters.[1] He spent four seasons with the Zebras, including two as captain, before returning to Subiaco for the 2016 season.[2] After being best-afield in Subiaco's 2018 reserves premiership, he moved to country side Moora,[3] before joining amateur side North Beach in 2020.[4]
