A quick and clever small defender, Adam Carter was picked up late in the 2012 draft. He made a surprise debut late in the 2013 season and acquitted himself well, holding his spot to play 5 games but added just two more in 2014 and was delisted at the end of the year.

West Coast career[]

Carter, whose older brother Mitch spent two years on Carlton's rookie list, started 2014 in South Fremantle's reserves but was soon playing seniors. Not expected to press for an AFL debut in 2013, his form at Souths was good enough to get a call-up against Freo. He looked comfortable at the top level, enough to get another four games.

Carter struggled for opportunities in 2014. Despite showing good form at new WAFL club East Perth and being named as an emergency a number of times, he managed only two senior appearances, coming in as a late replacement against Melbourne in the last home game of the year and then holding his spot for the final round. It wasn't enough to get a third season, and he was delisted at the end of the year.

Post-AFL career[]

Carter returned to South Fremantle in 2015, before joining Katanning in the Upper Great Southern Football League.[1]
