(266th Eagles player)
Decorated West Perth veteran Aaron Black appeared for West Coast as a top-up player early in the 2022 season.
West Perth career[]
A Kingsley junior, Black made his debut for the Falcons in 2010 and played in the club's 2013 premiership. He won the Sandover Medal as the WAFL's best and fairest in 2014 and added three Breckler Medals as West Perth's best in 2015, 2018 and 2021. He was appointed West Perth's captain in 2018 and played his 200th senior game in 2020.
West Coast appearance[]
In 2022, to ensure that clubs would have enough players to field a side each week, the AFL permitted sides to name 20 players on a "Covid contingency list". Black was one of West Coast's listed players, and was one of the first called up to play in the midst of an availability crisis. He made a surprise AFL debut against the Kangaroos at the age of 29, kicking a goal, but was not called up again. Black returned to West Perth where he skippered the Falcons to the 2022 WAFL premiership.
