West Coast's lean season continued after succumbing to Richmond at Lathlain Park. The visitors stunned the Eagles with a first-quarter onslaught, kicking four goals while holding the home side scoreless, and though West Coast fought back to level the contest in the final three quarters, they failed to make any real headway on the scoreboard. Aimee Schmidt kicked three goals while skipper Emma Swanson nailed two from 22 possessions.

From the papers[]
The West Australian[]
"It’s hard to fault West Coast’s effort but what let them down at times was decision making and skill.
A fatal error came in the last quarter when Niamh Kelly kicked backwards in defence, intended for Belinda Smith.
But the kick was intercepted by Richmond livewire Tayla Stahl metres from goal, who casually kicked her third of the afternoon after two in the first six minutes to cap off a solid victory.
Hometown hero Akec Makur Chuot also had a memorable moment in the last quarter, kicking the first goal of her career which started at Fremantle in 2017."[1]
