West Coast's difficult 2023 season came to a close with a combative loss to premiership favourites Adelaide at Lathlain Park. In oppressive heat, the Eagles were able to match it with Adelaide at stages, and took the lead with Kellie Gibson's first goal in the second term, but the Crows found another gear and rattled off five quick goals to put space on the scoreboard. The Eagles were able to narrow the margin to 13 points late in the match but a couple of late goals sealed the win and, eventually, the minor premiership for Adelaide. Gibson finished with two goals in her 50th AFLW match, while Ella Roberts finished off her strong season with 27 touches and seven tackles.
