2013-14 offseason

A spate of retirements marked the start of the 2013 offseason, with Daniel Kerr, Andrew Embley and Adam Selwood the main departures, although Mark Nicoski will also be missed. The club went hard for homesick Brisbane youngster Elliot Yeo and got their man, downgrading their top-6 pick in a complicated set of trades. The Eagles also picked up their first free agent, injury-prone Hawthorn defender Xavier Ellis.

Come draft time, rumours that the club was heavily into Larke Medallist Dom Sheed proved well-founded as he was picked up with West Coast's downgraded first-rounder.
